Happy Epiphany, friends!

January 6, 2022

Epiphany, the story of the wise men, is not all about a feast.  They traveled a long way.  They unwittingly entered enemy territory.  Herod was scared, “and all of Judea with him” (according to Matthew 2:3).  The wise men inadvertently incited a Biblical genocide.  When they reached their destination, they did not set up camp.  That was never the point.

I’ve never been much for resolutions.

Resolutions = re-solutions

I don’t like the idea of re-solving the same thing over and over. I’d prefer to solve it and then move on. (Yes, I realize the irony of that because I am a slow processor who appears to re-solve and re-think for 800 years and then still can’t really say what I want.) So I’m not calling them resolutions, but I am saying there are some things I want in 2022. I’m putting them out here so y’all can hold me accountable.

  1. I want to be financially self-sufficient.

  2. I want to publish a book.

  3. I want to stop my brain from rotting in my head.

Saltwater Writing

Words are our shared ocean.  They act as a tide upon us, compelling us either toward the shore or out to sea.

I’m Sarah. I write saltwater words.
